This headpiece takes its shape from our 3D comfort air headpiece which has been designed to offer maximum pressure relief thanks to its cut back anatomical design in conjunction. This headpiece also benefits from anatomical 4D padding which acts as a buffer at the base of the ear along with a central air gap which avoids contact on the last two vertebra of the neck.
The padding extends below the browband providing cushioning around the TMJ.
The headpiece can be used in 2 ways:
Noseband and cheekpieces without throat lash
Cheekpieces and throatlash without noseband

Lots of space for her super thick mane. Normally in a full but this headpiece was a bit snug so reordered an extra full and fits like a dream!
I have this head piece for both of my horses. I ride both in a hackamore and these fit lovelyand allow toom for their mane. I love that there are only 2 straps since I dont need one for a noseband. Excellent quality, I have many Henry James pieces and always recommend. Shame we now have to pay import fees to the US though and wish there were distributors here!
Really happy with this bridle, lovely soft leather and it is nice and fine for my Arab’s head. Really like the reins too, again not too bulky and lovely quality. Had to swap the browband and throatlash for a bigger size and the returns process and customer service was very good.
I ordered this headpiece as my existing one snapped (different brand). I needed one with only 2 straps and I liked the idea of this being a comfort headpiece as the one I used already was a comfort design. My horse doesn’t really have any poll issue/sensitivity that myself or physio have noticed, however I was super surprised with the difference this headpiece has made, even on the first ride, my horse can be slightly on the forehand but in this he has a better higher frame, steadier contact and less hollowing in the transactions. Very pleased with the purchase.
I was recommended the 4D headpiece by a bridle fitter as my horse is poll sensitive and now much more comfortable. Great design for this issue and bought this one for a Hackamore after also purchasing a three strap when bitted.

These are too short even though I ordered XF my hands are on the join which is uncomfortable and not long enough for my horse on a loose rein , they are also so slippery when wet that with or without gloves they are useless definitely not worth even half of the cost, very disappointing

I received mine today and am disappointed as your need to measure it against your current bridle. I have a youngster whom I need to measure for the first time to ensure I get him the correct size of bridle. So absolutely no use for me, money wasted.

I had bought previously from HJ and loved the quality of the leather. I treated myself to a new bridle because i loved them so much, a month later our tackroom was broken into and cleaned out. The team (Dan) went above and beyond to help me replace my stolen bridles, I can't thank him and the enough. The bridle arrived beautifully packaged alongside the stirrup leathers . I will be buying again once insurance is sorted and replacement saddles have arrived. I'm eyeing up the T bar dressage leathers
