I first bought this bridle 3 years ago to event my 16.1 mare. She always struggled with scoring low dressage marks and constantly scored mid thirty's. After swapping to the Henry James Bridle her dressage improved significantly scoring as low as 26.0 in BE100, as I believe other bridles don't apply the pressure in the same correct spots. In other bridles and cavessons she was much heavier in my hand. I have been riding in the Mexican grackle ever since and also used it for my 4yo mare, I have just re-bought the bridle in a bigger size as she is continually growing! I highly recommend this bridle!!

I’ve been on the hunt for a new ‘comfort’ bridle for a while. I had the opportunity to get a feel for some of the products I was considering at Burghley horse trials and I knew this was the one for me.
The bridle feels beautiful to handle and the individual components mean a perfect fit is easily achievable.
My horse is a Warmblood, in between Cob and Full so I always dither.
I opted for the Full which has adjusted to approximately half way on every setting .
The bridle is beautifully crafted with simplicity and attention to detail.
I’m very pleased with my purchase.
I will no doubt add to my HJ collection.

I love the quality of the leather and the rubber grip is excellent and super soft, which is perfect for me as I needed a softer grip as I have osteoarthritis in my hands.

Saw them, wanted them, got them (super swift delivery) and I love ‘em. Ridden in both wet and dry conditions, no slippage, no gripping needed, just super soft but sturdy comfort.
