A good fit starts with understanding your horse. Here is what happens from start to finish.

What your fitter looks at
Your photos let our fitter check the same points they would look at beside your horse.
- Headpiece and pollWhether it sits behind the ears without pinching or pressing on the poll.
- Browband lengthEnough room that the headpiece is not pulled forward into the ears.
- Noseband positionSitting clear of the cheekbones, with room to breathe and chew.
- Cheekpiece lengthHolding the bit at a comfortable height in the mouth.
- Balance and symmetryBuckles and straps sitting evenly on both sides of the face.
- Size and styleWhich Henry James bridle and size will suit your horse best.
How to take your three photos
Fit your horse's current bridle as you normally ride in it, then take these three shots.
Left side
Stand level with the head, far enough back to fit ears to chin in the frame.
Right side
The same shot from the other side, so we can compare the buckles on both sides.
Front on
Stand straight in front with the head looking at you, from ears to muzzle.
